3. When are the games?
Games will be during the following Saturdays or Sundays, depending on age group. There are no games on December 28 or 29, 2019.

4. Where will the games be played?
All games will be indoors at Peninsula High School Main Gym. Field House Gym, Palos Verdes High School Gym, or Miraleste Intermediate Gym.
5. What will be the game format?
For Kindergarten to 3rd Grade, all players will practice with coaches for 25 minutes then split up into smaller squads for 3-on-3 half court games against the opposing team.
For 4th Grade and up, games will be 5-on-5 full court.
6. When and where are the practices?
For Kindergarten to 3rd Grade, practice will occur immediately before each week’s game.
For 4th Grade and up, each coach will set practice day, time, and place.
7. Why is there mandatory player assessment?
Kindergarten to 3rd Grade players do NOT need to attend the assessment, unless the player intends to "play up" in the 4th Grade division.
Players who are playing in the 4th Grade and older divisions must attend the assessment in order for coaches to properly evaluate their abilities, take measurements, and meet the players. This enables the teams to be formed fairly and prevent "stacked" teams. The exact date and time for each division's assessment will be announced at a later date.
8. When will the coach contact me?
Teams will be formed in late-October. You should hear from your child's coach in early-November.
9. Will there be separate divisions for boys and girls? Are the teams co-ed?
We expect to form separate divisions for Boys and Girls divisions based on our success during the Summer, but may need to make certain age groups co-ed depending on actual enrollments. Girls, please encourage all your friends to sign-up.
10. What does the Registration Fee cover?
Personalized, reversible jersey and shorts (reusable in 2020 Summer League), court time, CIF-qualified referees, photo package, commemorative pin, trophies for top 3 teams in 4th Grade and higher divisions
11. What is your refund policy?
Wednesday, September 4, 2019 is the last day to request refunds. All requests must be sent to Support@PVYBL.com.
12. How can I personalize my child's jersey and shorts?
You will be able to request the name on the jersey and the top 3 choices of numbers during registration. The PVYBL Board reserves the right to deny any inappropriate requests.
13. Can I buy a jersey for myself?
Coaches and assistant coaches have the option to purchase a personalized league jersey during enrollment. Anyone can purchase a jersey on our website store at PVYBL.com/store.
14. What size basketball will be used?
Size 4 (25.5") for Kindergarten & 1st Grade
Size 5 (27.5") for 2nd and 3rd Grade
Size 6 (28.5") for 4th to 8th Grade
15. What basket height will be used?
8 feet for Kindergarten to 2nd Grade, and 3rd Grade Girls.
10 feet for 3rd Grade Boys and 4th Grade to 8th Grade.
16. Can I request that my child play for a particular coach or with specific player(s)?
For Kindergarten to 3rd Grade, you may make requests during registration and we will do our best to accommodate.
For 4th Grade and up, no such request will be allowed. In order to form fair and competitive teams, all players are assessed and drafted.
17. Can I request that my child play up/down a division because he is very talented/uncoordinated?
You may make the request during registration. The PVYBL Board and the coaches will review on a case-by-case basis.
18. Can I coach my child's team?
Yes! Please register as a Volunteer. You will be asked personal information to initiate the automated background check process with Protect Youth Sports. Please be assured that this form is encrypted for security and PVYBL does not retain any information in this section.
19. Are there any opportunities to volunteer?
Yes! PVYBL is 100% run by volunteers and we welcome the help of like-minded parents. Some of the opportunities include Coach, Assistant Coach, Team Parent, Announcer, Scorekeeper, Photographer, and Videographer. You can also help with Assessment Days, Opening Day, and Closing Day. Please indicate your interest during registration.
