Female high school basketball team playing game

Be a Challenger Buddy!

Challenger Basketball gives physically and intellectually challenged athletics a fun-filled opportunity to learn basketball skills and gives our able-bodied youths a great opportunity to work one-on-one with these athletics as a Buddy. Our athletes range in age from TK to Life Skills graduates, and range in abilities from Autistic to Down Syndrome and everything in between. All have a love of basketball and are a joy to be with!

Our program includes warm-ups followed by drills, a shooting contest, and then a “game”. Buddies assist players of all levels, ideally in a one-to-one ratio. Buddies help our Challenger athletes with simple shooting, dribbling and passing drills, and then play side-by-side in a “game”.
